Following the storm surge that damaged areas of the Norfolk coastline one cold December night in 2013, Carter Concrete were contracted to manufacture and deliver 104 bespoke precast concrete sea defence wave slabs  to replace sections of the old sea wall at Eccles-on-Sea.

The contract consisted of 52 cranked units and 52 flat units incorporating a tongue and grove detail to connect the two types together.  The wave slabs also included cast in stainless steel lifting anchors and a concrete mix design for maximum exposure against the North Sea elements.
